Brazil. Bahia. Between Alcobaça and Caravelas on the BA 001 highway. 23 km S. of Alcobaça, not far from coast.

Habitat
Mixed restinga, much disturbed with some mangrove species, and some high restinga on higher ground.

Description
Tree to 8 m. Leaves stif, chartaceous dark green above, a little paler below with very prominent primary venation. Stipular sheath brown-tomentose at base. Fruit 1 cm. in diameter, gree, shiny, obscurely furrowed vertically, umbonulate. Phenology of specimen: Fertile.
