    Slope of ca. WNW exposure. Chaparral dominated by Cercocarpus betuloides, Arctostaphylos glaus, Ceanothus cuneatus (C. oblanceolatus), Quercus cf. john-tuckeri, Adenostoma fasciculatum, Heteromeles arbutifolia, Eriogonum fasciculatum polifolium, Eriophyllum confertiflorum, etc. Locally uncommon.

    shrub, 0.7 -1.4 m. high. Shrub ca. 7-14 dm. tall with bright green stems. [Staminate plant]. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
