    Mosaic of streamside swamp, dry savanna slopes and dry and intermittent streams with attendant xeromorphic gallery forests. Swamp with Mauritia, Melastomataceae, Rubiaceae, and heliconia; savanna slopes with Trachypogon, Curatella, Byrsonima; forests with Clusia, Vochysia, and Melastomataceae.

    Shrub 1 m.; leaves light green; corolla pink; stamens yellowish orangel styles pink. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
