Open grassy, short-tree woodland (Heavily grazed) with tree Ipomoea, Opuntia, leguminous trees and shrubs, Bursera, Cordia, cereioid cacti, Bouteloua. Locally common.

Rounded shrub to 1 m. from large gnarled base; corolla white with maroon and blue chevron. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
