    herb. Herb 10-20 cm, inflorescence with up to 20 flowers arranged like a rosette, one after another opening in intervals of 1-3 days, bracts white, bracteole up to 3.5 x 1.2 cm, folded twice, transparent tinged green at tip, calyx 3-3.7 cm long, deeply 3-lobed, one side much more deeply lobed, transparent white, tips light green, corolla very showy, labellum 7 x 4.5 cm, tubular part long, 10 cm wide, yellow with orange stripes in the center, lobes, light yellow, stamen yellow, 4.5 cm long (plus 4.5 cm tube) x 1.5 cm wide.
