    On steep granitic slope below forest. Of Quercus, Arctostaphylos and Ceanothus with scattered Pinus. Abundant. Gray-black sandy soil, pH ca. 5.5.

  • Description

    Corollas pale to dark red- or blue-violet, lobes dark blue, tube base dark violet, abaxial side of throat paler, with 2 weak white ridges; anthers black, white along sutures; nectar sweetly fragrant; leaves white glaucous. Phenology of specimen: Fertile, Flower.
