Habitat
Exposed to southwest, very open grassy Quercus agrifolia woodland, with Q. kelloggii and Q. douglasii on shaded north slopes and Artemisia - Adenostoma scrub on ridgetops. Shallow horizontal soil over rock of large outcrop.
