    Secondary (30-40 years old) subtropical semi-deciduous forest, the trees to 15 m tall, Anadenanthera macrocapa, Gallesia integrifolia, very flat, on fine sandy and silty soil.

    Herbs, with somewhat woody stem, to 1.4 m tall. Flowers white. Fruit bright red.
