United States of America. Idaho. Clearwater Co. Clearwater National Forest, Clearwater Mountains between North Fork and Little North Fork Clearwater rivers. Plants abundant along roadcut on road from Aquarius CG to Smith Ridge, ca. 100 yds east of ridge and trailhead to Mallard Larkins Pioneer Area.

Habitat
With Salix scouleriana, Alnus sinuata, Acer glabrum, and numerous additional plants of this species with highly variable flower color and leaf morph. Surrounding forest of Abies lasiocarpa, Picea englemannii, Tsuga mertensiana, and Abies grandis. Plants abundant. Soil coarse, derived from quartzite of the Belt Series of Precambrian rocks.

Description
Flowers of this specimen pale purple, the limb nearly white, the throat deeper magenta-purple; leaves mostly entire. Phenology of specimen: Fertile, Flower.
