United States of America. Idaho. Clearwater Co. Clearwater Mountains, Clearwater National Forest. Plants abundant on roadcut along road from Aquarius CG to Smith Ridge, separating the North Fork from the Little North Fork of the Clearwater Rivers, ca. 100 yds east of saddle on ridge and trailhead to Mallard Larkins Pioneer Area.

Habitat
With Salix scouleriana, Alnus sinuata, Acer glabrum, and numerous other plants of this same species (?) with highly varied flower color and leaf margins. Surrounding forest of Abies lasiocarpa, Picea engelmannii, Tsuga mertensiana, and Abies grandis. Abundant. Soil coarse, derived from quartzite of the Belt Series.

Flowers pale yellow; leaves obscurely toothed - mainly on the distal. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
