United States of America. Arizona. Gila Co. Sierra Ancha Mountains and Wilderness, above and just south of Cold Water Canyon, along tertiary pack trail which goes west to a uranium mine tunnel.

Habitat
Shaly rock. Dense chaparral, with Ceanothus fendleri, C. greggii, Cercocarpus montanus, Quercus emoryi, Q. arizonica, Q. undulata, Arctostaphylos pringlei, Fraxinus anomala, Ptelea trifoliata, Pinus ponderosa, Garrya flavescens. Local, ca. 30 plants.

Description
Perennial, somewhat woody and much branched at base, flowers red with tinge of orange. Phenology of specimen: Fertile, Flower.
