    herb. Herb 1.5 - 3.5 m, inflorescence 10-20 cm long, at end of a leafy shoot but also on separate shoot, bracts dark purple inside and outside, callus yellow, 3-5 mm long, bracteole 2-2.5 x 0.8 cm, dark red with small yellow callus, calyx 2-2.5 cm long, 3-lobed, dark red, corolla labellum 8-10 cm x 6-7 cm, pink with darker pink and some yellow in the center, lobes light pink, stamen pink, stigma cup-shaped. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
