Alpine grassy ridge. With Delphinium bicolor, Phacelia sericea. Poa rupicola, and Leucopoa kingii. Common. On soils derived from quartzite and limestone.

Basal leaves well developed; plants not glandular in inflor.; flowers blue; pollen sacs opening fully. Phenology of specimen: Fertile, Flower.
