  • Description

    Scandent shrub 2 m tall. Stems to 3-4 cm diam, growing in humus along soil. Leaves dark green above, pale below; stems, petioles & lower midvein wine red. Tube & calyx rose-lavender, petals purple, stamens & styles wine red; anthers purple, pollen white. Visited by hummingbirds and Apis. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
