    Forming rather large but not dense clumps. Culms decumbent at base, then leaning or climbing over trees up to 12 m or more. Culms solid, flexible, cylindrical, ca. 1 cm diam., surface very smooth. [see label for additional information]. Phenology of specimen: Fertile.

N. of Una. Slev. 55 Abundant in "mata litoranea,” not
very tall tree forest in sandy soil near the ocean. Forming
large "but not dense clumps. Culms decumbent at base,
then leaning or climbing over trees up to 12 n or more.
Culms solidj flexible, cylindrical, ca. 1 cm diam.5 surface
very smooth. Internodes ca 62-98 cm* rather long and naked
at base of the plant without sheaths; branches starting
above k-5 m. Culm leaves .falling rather easily after
development of branches, which are intravaginal. Blade not
developed, only a rudiment muero present.. Bracts and pro-
phylla of buds not growing with them.
