Gnarly crooked trees, singly scattered; wood whitish, moderately hard; bark thick, reddish beneath the blackish brown scaly surface; leaves submembranous, light green above, whitish or lepidate beneath; flat with recurvedtips; petals yellow; young fruits green; lepidately covered.
