    Large tufted sedge forming tussocks. Flowering stems to 2.5 m. Leaves conspicuously glaucous grey-green. Old leaves forming tortuous mass at base. Leaf bases brown and sheaths of bracts brown. Young fruits yellowish-green. Phenology of specimen: Fertile.
