  • Habitat

    Upland forest on undulating terrain, disturbed by removal of most large trees, resulting in an open canopy. Understory rich in Marantaceae.

  • Description

    Tree. Tree 25m x 60cm, bark rough, lenticellate, shed in large irregular thin plates; thick plank buttresses; inner bark pale tan. Sterile. Use: sweet pulp around pyrenes much appreciated. Phenology of specimen: Sterile.
