Degraded campo cerrado [see specimen label for additional information]. Campo cerrado on upland (or occasionally forest). Open marsh or dense secondary forest along streams. Soil poor, light reddish-brown fine sand with a little clay.

Shrub ca. 1 m tall, several stems from ground. Fls. deep pink, anthers yellow. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
