Primary forest in low-lying area ("baixio") shallowly dissected by many small streams. Soil sandy in many places, but drainage poor in many spots. Rare.

Tree. Tree 15 m, fruits borne erect. outer bark thin, light gray, rough due to many lenticels, inner bark red, brittle. Phenology of specimen: Fruit.
