  • Description

    Gregarious. Pileus 3.5-8.5 cm broad, parabolic then convex to plano-convex with a broad, low umbo, moist and hygrophanous, sometimes slightly tacky, glabrous, even, becoming subrugulose toward margin with age, with fine white, fibrillose-silky UV remnants when young, these occasionally disappearing with age, apricot yellow to Pompeian yellow (5A-B6-5) overall at first, with a darker margin showing some dull lilac, with age apricot yellow on disc and slightly more yellow toward margin, with margin still showing some dull lilac tones. Flesh white to pale buff in areas, up to 1 cm thick, with mild odor and mild taste. Lamellae emarginate with a subdecurrent tooth, close, up to 6 mm broad, with wrinkled edges, lilac to dull violet (15-16C-D4-5) at first and finally fading and assuming more brown tints with age, with very uneven edges. Stipe 6-10 cm long, 1-1.5 cm broad, ±equal to slightly broader below to subclavate, dry, silky fibrillose to fibrillose, white overall or sometimes with a lilac upper ha. Phenology of specimen: Basidiomata.
