NE of Millston, along Smrekar Road.
44° 13’ 18”N, 90°34,24”W. alt. 300 m.
T 20 N, R 2 W; NEl/4SEl/4 sect. 11.
Nearly flat, slightly rolling, not swampy, forest of Pinus
strobus, P. resinosa. Quercus rubra, Q. alba. Acer rub rum.
Populus grandidentata, with Pteridium aquilinum, Rubus
allegheniensis.
Low, less than 40 cm. tall, the stems arching (not rooting at
tips?), to 0.4 cm. in diameter, no growth rings visible.
Voucher for wood specimens at Kw, Lw, MADw. Flowers
held erect; petals white.
