Plants of Ecuador Gesneriaceae Monopyle sodiroana Fritsch Ecuador. Provincia: Imbabura. Canton: Ibarra. Parroquia: Lita. Unpaved road heading South, near Rocafuerte (between San Geronimo and La Carolina), accessed via the Lita - San Lorenzo highway (KM 98), road recently developed through the SolGold mining concession (Alpala). 1550-1650 m. 0°45'9.5"N 78°20'10.5"W. Premontane wet forest. Terrestrial herb with erect shoots, 60-80 cm tall. Sometimes with single erect shoot, rarely with multi-branched shoots. Digital images of this collection are with John L.
