ECUADOR. GALÁPAGOS ISLANDS. Isla Santiago. James Bay. Along trail from the beach to the old salt mine crater; abundant on Bur ser a trees and responsible for much of the white coloration of the bark. With increase in diameter, the thalli tend to cause flaking of the bark. Characteristic associates: Pertusaria sp., Dirinaria picta, Haematomma puniceum, Parmotrema spp.
