New York City, Grounds of the New York Botanical Garden; grassy subsection N of the Native Plant Garden and SW of the Rock Garden, NE comer of the large boulder 40.86440°, -73.87890° Habitat: In and at the bottom of a large boulder. Grows with many other of the same species, grasses, various cultivars of Scilla siberica, Puschkinia scilloides ‘Alba’, among others. Plant description: Evergreen shrub, 18 cm tall, grows in clumps, about 0.7 m wide. Dark green small needle-like leaves in whorls, small bright reddish-pink bell-shaped downwards drooping flowers.
