Sichuan Province, Heishui Xian: W of the city of Heishui on provincial
road S302, between Ganshiba Cun and Shashiduo Xiang. 32°5'30"N
102°46'25"E; 2700 m. Along stream at base of mixed forest of Acer (3
species), Betula, Abies, Picea, Sorbus, Salix, with Hippophae immediately
along stream and mixed shrub and Fargesia understory; soil dark and
moist. In and at margin of forest and at base of steep slope. Tree ca. 5 m
tall; branches arching; flowers sweetly fragrant; sepals green or purplish-
corolla white. Voucher for C. Davidson and S. Christoph, Flora of the *
