ca 2 m elev; "pozos" with wetland
vegetation.
Seen only at the pozos where more than 45
plants were counted (I estimate ca one-
third of the population was seen); much-
branched, broom-like leafy shrubs 3-3.5 m
tall, the foliage dark green, some with a
slight red-purple cast; dioecious; growing
with Anemopsis californica, Eleocharis
rostellata, Lythrum californicum,
Phragmites australis, Pluchea sericea,
Prosopis pubescens, Scirpus americanus,
Tamarix ramosissima, Typha domingensis.
