No. 325. USNEA TORULOSA (Muell.-Arg.) A. Zahlbr.
AUSTRALIA. NEW SOUTH WALES. KOSCIUSKO STATE PARK. Lower sloped of ridges of Ramshead Range just east of crossing of Spencers Creek between Perisher Valley and Charlotte Pass; abundant on tops and sides of huge granite boulders in open grass and shrub communities below the Eucalyptus niphophylla groves, 5,500 ft. alt.; extremely abundant throughout the subalpine and alpine zones. Approximate topotype. Mueller-Arg. reported the type collection to be corticolous, Motyka "possibly saxicolous". In my experience the species is wholly saxicolous.
