U. S. A. NEW MEXICO. LINCOLN COUNTY: on huge rhyoli+e boulders on summit of Mon Jeau Peak, Sierra Blanca between Ruidoso and Capitan, alt. 3,000 m, associated with Populus tremuioides, Festuca arizonica, Pseudotsuga menziesii, Pinus flexilis. Thallus up to 15 cm., the color yellow-green, underside smooth to strongly reticulate and papillate, pale brownish to carbonaceous-black, very firmly attached to vertical faces of the rock. True rhizinae are lacking. Omphalodium hottentottum,
is a Parmelia.
