Brillo Nuevo and vicinity, approx. lat. 2°40/, long. 72°00/ Palm 20 meters tall in primary forest; tierra firma. Leaves ca 9 metpfs long, pinnate, ca 1,02 pinnae per side. Petiole 1 meter long, sheath 1 meter long by 70 cm wide at base, with fibers., 8 meters to flowering panicles, 2 in fruit, one in flower, and one flower with qlosed bract. Prophyll 97 cm long by 31 cm wide, brownish green; bract 2 metets long, green with brown stripes.
