Rolling red sandstone hills, with Juniperus, Oryzopsis,
Oenothera.
Extensively rhizomatous; well-established “mother7’
plants with ±6-15 stems/clump and then with 1-several radiating
lines of rosettes of young, few-leaved non-flowering plants;
rhizomes apparently decayed between larger plants (if not from
seed). See NMC for rhizome between young plants.
