MICHIGAN: Ontonagon County, W side of Ontonagon,
Riverside Cemetery, W of the Ontonagon River.
46°5r33”N, 89°19’26”W. alt. 198 m.
Flat, sandy soil, edge of cemetery and woods of Querem
rubra, Populus grandidentata, Acer rubrum, Betula
papyrifera, Rhus typhinay with Corylm cornuta, Berberis
thunbergia, Syringa vulgaris, Rhamnus cathartica, 10 m
above floodplain of small creek, a tributary of the
Ontonagon River.
Common in places around edge of cemetery and woods,
either planted or more likely self-seeding from planted ones
in cemetery.
