MONO COUNTY: 3 miles NE of Mono Mills; southeast side of Mono Lake; Inyo National Forest; T1N R28E NW¼ of SW¼ Section 19; GPS Coordinates 37°55′50″N, 118°56′17″W; 6800 ft elevation; in vicinity of watertank shown on Cowtrack Mtn. 15′ USGS quadrangle, 1962 edition. Loose sandy (tephra derived) soils in *Purshia tridentata*-*Artemisia* *tridentata* scrub. Short lived; taproot fleshy and white when fresh (carrot- like); seeds not deeply excavated. Dean Wm.
