Flat, cut-over forest, Pirns strobus. P. banks Urna, Betula
papyri fera, boggy parts with Alnus incana ssp. rugosa,
Ledum groenlandicum. Larix laricina, Picea mariana, Acer
rubrum, Betula pumi la, Salix pyrifolia, Aronia
melanocarpa.
Shrub 0.9 m. tall, the stems to 0.7 cm. in diameter, and
growth rings, if any, obscure, but perhaps to 5 years old,
forming a many*#temmed loose clump. Leaves green above,
lighter and glaucous below. Voucher for wood specimens at
Kw, Lw, MADw. Fruit green with reddish tinge in part.
