The stem is mixed with the rhizome of
ginger {Zingiber officinale) and applied to
large wounds.

Shrubs, with leaves, twigs and inflorescence
all covered in felty hairs. The flowers are
arranged in cymes, with the corolla a tube
about 3mm long with four stamens. The
fruit is a succulent globose berry.
