Several vigorous herbs, to 1 m. tall, with spreading
branches, partly shaded by cultivated Cedrella, Ligustrum
lucidum. Schinus molle, with other weeds, along fence near
old train station. Flowers abundant, mostly nodding; buds
tapered-cylindric, the cprolla yellow green until near
anthesis; corolla violet when open, the newly opened
flowers (when seen at 8:30 in morning, cloudy) with small
and very reflexed corolla, but the flowers with damaged
anthers which opened the day before are spreading and
more showy. Immature fruit green; no ripe fruits. See no,
560.12 for the same species in a drier, unshaded situation
about 250 meters away.
