Habitat
Disturbed region next to canal with flowing water at edge of field. With Tetramerium, Ruellia, Acacia, Dicliptera in an arid region dominated by Cercidium, Jatropha, Bromeliads, and Cacti. Locally Frequent. Silt-clay conglomerate.

Erect shrub (or with prostrate branches becoming erect at tips) to 1 m.; corolla red. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
