Sakhalin Island, east coast; mouth of Tukhaya River ca 17 km
north of town of Vzmor’ye and 70 km south of Makarov.

Steep windswept slopes and cliffs above beach, with some dwarfed
Betula forest in depressions, mostly lower growing herbs and talus
on exposed slopes; parent rock partly calcareous.
Flowers yellow; robust plants to 1 meter tall with branched stems;
in sand on edge of beach.
