Habitat
Along the rim of the lake. Hesperopeuce [Tsuga] mertensiana occurs almost exclusively, there being few trees of Pinus albicaulis on the crest of the rim. There are practically no undershrubs, except infrequent clumps of elder and prostrate mats of Ribes eryhtrocarpum. Husdonian. Sandy soil.
