XINJIANG UYGUR ZIZHIQU: Northeast slopes of Tien Shan in the Hutubi River drainage, hilltop and west-facing slope and drainage immediately above (east across road from) the Nan Shan Forest Station. Steep protected drainage with Picea, Betula, Salix, Sorbus, Lonicera, Potygonatum, Cotoneaster, etc. Altitude: 1770 meters. Coordinates: 43°35'N, 86°29'E. James D. Morefield 5229 25 June 1989 with Li Bosheng, Kong Lingshao, Loren Rieseberg, Guo Ke, and Aaron Liston.
