Escarpment slope in well-drained sandy loam soil of sandstone. Common and
native. Forest with Combretum kraussii, Eugenia natal itia, Cassapurea and
Psychotria capensis.
Tree up to 8 m high and 20 cm DBH. Petioles up to 10 mm long. Leaves
simple, opposite, glabrous, glossy dark green above, ovate, 200-250 x 80-
100mm. Triangular, interpetiolar stipule present, 10x4 mm.
