  • Description

    Most plants vegetative, but a few culms with inflorescences, the flowers past anthesis. Culms erect at base, arching and scandent above, 12-16 m tall, 3-4.5 cm in diameter. Internodes 30-40 cm long, smooth, glaucous when young, becoming green, a band of white to cream-colored hairs 0.7-1 cm wide present below each node; walls of internodes relatively thin. Culm leaves with the sheaths abaxially more or les lanate, this rubbing off in places; blades reflexed and more or less broad. Branch complement apsidate, the secondary branches up to 70 cm long, rarely rebranching from the base. Phenology of specimen: Fertile.
