Habitat
Rather undisturbed primary forest c. 35m high, with little undergrowth. Terrain sloping,. deep volcanic soil.

Description
Tree 12 m high. Clear bole 4 m, 25 cm dbh, with small buttresses to 50 cm high to 1 m out. Outer bark dark brown, not fissured, peeling off in flakes 0.2 mm thick. Inner bark 2.5 mm thick, out reddish, in ochre, without exudate. Flower buds greenish brown.
