Nitella tenuissima (Desv.) Kutz. NW1/4 of SW1/4 Sec. 28 T069N R17W 48.43331 -92.52721 12 miles north of the town of Crane Lake, 30 miles north-northeast of Orr. Voyageurs National Park. Found on the southeast side of Namakan Lake (ID 69069300), a large and deep 24,000 acre mesotrophic basin situated in the Border Lakes Ecological Subsection. Part of the Namakan Reservoir system. Growing near the western shoreline of an island. Partially protected from heavy wave action by adjacent islands. Individuals locally common, fully submerged in 15 centimeters of water.
