10.5 miles north of the town of Crane Lake, 29 miles north-northeast of Orr.
Voyageurs National Park. Growing in the southwestern arm of Hammer Bay in
Namakan Lake (ID 69069300), a large and deep 24,000 acre mesotrophic lake
situated in the Border Lakes Ecological Subsection. Part of the Namakan Reservoir
system. Bay is sheltered, water stagnant and tannin-stained. Individuals local,
occurring in scattered patches. Fully submerged in 60 centimeters of water.
Associates include Potamogeton vaseyi, Nymphaea odorata, Utricularia vulgaris,
Brasenia schreberi, Callitriche sp., Chara sp. Soft, muck substrate. NPS Permit:
