Habitat: Burnt-over *Casuarina rumphiana*
montane forest on ridge. Probably burnt
1965.
Annot. Tree; buttresses absent; height
40 feet; d.b.h. 8 inches. Bark dark grey,
moderately fissured, scaly; lenticels
absent. Blaze grey-brown. Sapwood pale
orange, narrow; heartwood red. Odour and
exudate absent. Leaves dark green on upper
surface; green on lower surface. Fruit
green; purple when ripe. Local name Napepe.
