9.5 miles east of Backus. Growing on the southeast shore of the southwest arm of
Hand Lake, a 290 acre lake in the Pine Moraines and Outwash Plains subsection.
Submerged in 1.5 - 2.0 feet of water in soft, silty substrate. Associates include
Nuphar variegata, Brasenia schreberi, Schoenoplectus subterminalis, Najas sp.,
Sparganium emersum. Elevation: 405 m.
