Frequent on ground in Castanopsis-Nothofagus
forest; having apparently fallen from trees;
branches numerous, erect to nearly 1 m from a
tuberous, galleries stock; leaves fleshy;
flowers white; fruits red, obconical; seeds
often germinating in the axile of the leaves.
Eastern Highlands District: Mt. Michael, northeast slopes, alt .2000m.
