Above stream bank, on gende southern slope, in foil sun. In well-drained soil of
dbleridc loam. Abundant and native. Grassland with Celtis africana, Lycium
hirsutum and Ziziphus mucronata.
Tree up to 8 m high, 30 cm at DBH, bark dark grey and fissured. Simple leaves
opposite hairy, dark green above and silvery white below due to indumentum of
epidermal scales, leaf margin entire. Fruit a black drupe, 5 mm in diameter.
