In »ell-drained rocky soil of doleritic sandy-loam. Common and native. Grassland wirh Celtis africana, Ehretia rigida, Grewia occidentalis and Enneapogon. Tree of 5 m high, bark rough and greyish brown. Simple leaves opposite, hairy, dark green above and whithis-grey below, margins entire. Very small, creamy flowers in racemes. Hendrik J.
